LIFT OFF – programme for Belle Isle young people

Department for Education data shows that young people are significantly under achieving in this community.
BITMO, working with outstanding educational providers, have developed a programme designed to support achievement and social mobility.

If you are aged 14-24 and live in a BITMO property we want to work with you to:

• Develop self-belief, resilience and aspiration
• Set goals and plan for success
• Acquire learning, work, and life skills

To find out more or to register for the programme, email Lindsay.woolsey@belleisletmo.co.uk

Courses in the GATE

Before COVID-19 there were regular courses in BITMOs GATE.

Leeds City College ran basic Maths, English and computer courses.

Scope ran courses to help people with disabilities, including long-term condition, depression and anxiety, prepare for employment, education or volunteering.

BITMO ran beginners computer courses.

We also referred people to external courses run by Leeds City College and other training providers.

For a referral to an online course please phone 0113 378 2190 or email gate@belleisletmo.co.uk.

BITMO’s Board has opened a new Winter Warmth Fund for this winter. The Board understand the cost of living crisis that is affecting many people and have allocated money from their budget to pay for goods that can help you and your family keep warm this winter.

BITMO households in need of extra support can apply for a winter warmth pack which will contain large fleecy sherpa blankets, hot water bottles with covers and fleecy socks, with the amounts depending on how many people are in our household.

You can find out more and apply for a Winter Warmth Pack here.
