Service Support Assistant
Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation
Temporary (4 months), full time and part time hours available
B3 (£13.26ph)
Would you like to work full or part-time in Belle Isle for 4 months, visiting tenants in their homes?
Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation has responsibility for the repairs and capital investment to maintain approximately nineteen hundred properties in the Belle Isle area of Leeds. We are looking for a small team of Service Support Assistants to support our key services and undertake Annual Tenancy Visits.
The role will involve visiting tenants to check the condition of their home and garden, identifying if tenants need any support, or if they are having problems such as noise from neighbours, or if their home needs any repairs. We are looking for a small team to carry out up to 800 visits in the January – April 2025 period.
The job involves:
- Phoning, texting, emailing and writing to tenants to make appointments.
- Visiting tenants by yourself – you will need to be friendly and polite, and sometimes you will need to persuade people to let you in to their home.
- Having good conversations with tenants – do they have any concerns, can we point them towards support in getting a better job or attending events at BITMO’s GATE.
- Checking the home for any signs of damp or mould, are there any fire risks, or new or outstanding repairs.
- Checking the garden – if it is overgrown what support do they need to get it cleared, or do BITMO need to take formal action.
- Completing office based administration – reporting home visits, making referrals and ordering any repairs.
Full training and support will be provided and we will arrange and pay for a full DBS check for you.
This job is ideal for anyone looking to start a career in housing or councils. We can also provide ongoing support to help you gain another job afterwards, using the experience you have gained.
To find out more, please come to an information session at BITMO’s GATE on Wednesday 20th November at 11am, or if you have any questions about the role then please contact Peter Sutton on 07891 274237.
Interviews will be held 4th December.
Applications must be made by submitting the online application form below by 12 noon on Monday 2nd December 2024
