There are some circumstances in which BITMO will contribute to the cost of decorating your home:
- You are a new tenant and the decoration in the property is of a very poor standard – such as heavily stained, or paper peeling off the walls.
- We carry out intrusive works and the decorations need making good when the work is finished.
The maximum grant available is £635, regardless of the size of the property, and the number of bedrooms.
The grant is a contribution to the cost of decorating, it is not intended to cover the full cost. Decoration is the tenant’s responsibility
The grant is released in a phased way, room by room.
50% of the room grant is provided to enable purchase of materials. When the decoration is underway and receipts are provided the remaining 50% is released.
