Financial Inclusion Officer

Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation has landlord management responsibility for approximately nineteen hundred council properties in the Belle Isle area of Leeds. We are looking for a Financial Inclusion Officer to join our small but dedicated team to deliver financial inclusion and income management strategies, provide support, advice and guidance to customers where financial situations prevent them from paying rent and other essentials, and maximising income through various debt recovery processes.

You will have a good working knowledge of welfare benefits and debt management. You will; undertake financial health checks with customers to maximise income, complete analysis of income and expenditure, apply for and negotiate payment terms, deal with enquiries from tenants regarding benefit applications, assist  tenants  in  the  completion  of  benefit  applications  forms.

BITMO hours over the holidays

BITMO’s housing office and BITMO’s GATE community centre are now working normal hours again after the holidays.

BITMO’s GATE will be closed from Monday January 6 to Thursday January 9 for refurbishment works in the kitchen. We aim to be open again for breakfast on Friday 10 January. The foodbank will be open as normal that day.

BITMO’s Board has opened a new Winter Warmth Fund for this winter. The Board understand the cost of living crisis that is affecting many people and have allocated money from their budget to pay for goods that can help you and your family keep warm this winter.

BITMO households in need of extra support can apply for a winter warmth pack which will contain large fleecy sherpa blankets, hot water bottles with covers and fleecy socks, with the amounts depending on how many people are in our household.
